Anomalies
Anomalies are classified into three types. These names are no longer subject to change, and the system applies to every case.
Type 1: Unharmed
Scale: Small. Animals, people, or objects.
Smaller animals or people marked by blisters, or found dead in strange ways. Also anything that isn’t supposed to be there.
Examples:
- A source of light shining from nothing
- Wood-like roots sprouting from a living mound
- A non-living thing growing eyes
Type 2: Dismayed
Scale: Large. A person or a building.
A large person or building affected by an anomaly will end up dead regardless, leaving a trace of fear² in their wake. If the anomaly is more than two weeks old, the host cannot be saved.
These anomalies hide inside hosts and buildings to conceal their nature until they emerge. They must be cleansed immediately, and never left for more than two days.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS AN ANOMALY TO “SET ROOTS.”
Type 3: Shifted
Scale: Areas, from a city to an entire country.
These anomalies mostly take the form of Possessionā“, permanently altering the area around them, or leaving long-lasting effects on the people who live there.
They are the rarest form of anomaly, and the most dangerous.
